The parliamentary Intergroups "Peace and Freedom for Western sahara" of Spain met in Saragossa, They ask in a resolution the Spanish authorities to do more for a rapid solution of the WS conflict and to continue the humanitarian aid for the refugees. (full text Spanish) They also addressed the resolution to the UN Secretary-General and the President of the European Union.

The correspondent in Rabat of the Spanish newspaper El Pais affirms in an article that the UN Secretary-General has proposed to Morocco and the Polisario Front an alternative to the Peace Plan including a partition of the territory. He pretends this proposal had been welcomed in Morocco.
The Saharawi Representative in Spain denied immediately and with force the news he qualified tendencious. (fulltext Spanish)

16.12.98: The regional Government of Cantabria, Spain, handed over to the Polisario representative six tankers for a water project in the wilaya of El Ayoun.
20.12.98, Asturias-Cantabria: The Solidarity Youh Award "German Quintero", amount 200'000 pts, was granted to the Saharawi Youth..
22.12.98, Santander: The Asturias-Cantabria Plateform of solidarity with the Saharawi people organised a daance festival.
24.12.98: 4 ambulances, gifts of the municipality of Albacete, will be conveyed by ship and road to the refugee camps by a humanitarian caravan on December 30.
