The King of Morocco, 66-year-old, was admitted to a hospital in New York suffering from bronchial pneumonia. Hassan II was attending 50th anniversary celebrations at the United Nations when he was taken ill.

In a press release the AFAPREDESA announces that, in anticipation of the visit of King Hassan II in the occupied city of El Ayoun, scheduled Nov. 6, the Moroccan authorities are multiplying repressive mesures. They displace the Sahrawis suspected of POLISARIO's sympathies out of the towns, and build protections around strategical installations.

21th European Coordination Conference of support to the Sahrawi People in Geneva. More than one hundred delegates from Supporting groups, Associations, NGOs, etc discussed the needs of the Sahrawi refugees and the political situation of Western Sahara. They decided the creation of the Office Solidarity Sahrawi Women, and worked out a solemn appeal at the adress of the United Nations and the International Community, the APPEAL OF GENEVA.
