Press release of the COSAR
In a press release the Saharawi Commission for the Referendum exprimes its satisfaction about the work of the Identification Commission of MINURSO, which "has achieved its mission in conformity with the Houston agreements". Regretting the delays of the scheduled calendar, the COSAR "attributes them to Morocco which has broken the spirit and letter of the Houston agreements" and "is trying to stop the peace plan".
The press release lists the persistent impediments and closes with an appeal to the U.N. "to persevere in the implementation of the peace plan, which is the only acceptable way to a solution of the conflict" ( fulltext french).

Waiting for Baker...
According to an authorized source, the date and the place of the Morocco-Saharawi negociations to come are not yet fixed. The meetings will probably take place at the end of September or beginning of October. Therefore the Security Council will extend the MINURSO mandate for one month in order to allow Mr James Baker time for the preparation of the discussions.

SOLIDARITY

The recently created "Comitato Messinese di Amicizia al Popolo Saharawi", Italy, organizes on September 17, 18.30, a meeting with the theme "Il cammino del Popolo Saharawi verso la propria Terra".
